Music took root early for Becky Rae Dalton. Surrounded by piano, rhythm and melody from the time she was a baby, she eventually picked up the drums, began experimenting with songwriting and discovered that more than anything, she wanted to sing. As she grew older, music became more than something she loved—it became a place to search for truth, belonging and light. After high school, Becky earned a degree in vocal performance from Music Tech, joined an original band and eventually picked up the guitar and stepped out on her own, writing and performing throughout the Minneapolis music scene.
Just as she was beginning to find her way as an artist, a health setback made singing difficult and forced Becky to step away from the path she had imagined. What began as an interruption became a period of reflection and healing. She leaned deeper into music and a growing relationship with God, beginning a long journey through acceptance, forgiveness and gratitude. Along the way, she learned that finding the light didn't mean ignoring the darkness, but finding the courage to face it. Eventually, she found her way back to the stage with a stronger voice and a clearer understanding of what she wanted her music to mean.
In 2016, Becky released her debut EP, Ready or Not, blending country storytelling, bluesy guitars and ethereal vocals into songs of truth, acceptance and forgiveness. Moving from haunting reflection to playful, soul-lifting energy, the record captured both the shadows and light that had shaped her journey. She continued performing throughout the local music scene while writing more than ever. After the release of her EP, Becky was no longer in a place of simply surviving. She was ready to thrive—but that required her to move beyond herself.
With a renewed sense of purpose, Becky began looking beyond her own journey, seeking a deeper sense of connection and community. She questioned the walls we build between one another and began writing about love, faith and human connection. Those ideas began taking shape in the songs that would become her upcoming full-length album, All Sides Combine. Blending earthy folk roots with vibrant indie pop, dreamy atmospheres and rich, layered production, the album builds a bold, expressive sound around Becky Rae's signature warm, velvety vocals. Moving between intimate, heartfelt moments and infectious melodies, All Sides Combine is a reflection on love, faith and human connection, finding common ground in the things that make us human.
